Thanks, DG, for sharing this smile with all of us!
Share a Smile
It started at a Cracker Barrel in Raleigh, North Carolina, while dining with my twin five-year-old grandchildren. In an effort to make them laugh, I took the paper wrapper from around the napkin/cutlery and, using the crayons provided to child diners, drew a smile to hold up to my face. Fortunately, it worked. Now we're spreading it around...

Hoosier Smile from Today?
Today I'm sharing a smile from a long-time friend, who recently vacationed in Shipshewana, Indiana. DG and I go back over 40 years, from days in nursing school, to working together, to having both retired and relocated yet staying connected online. DG is very skilled in basket weaving, gardening, canning, and textile arts, which was what brought her to connect with friends who share those interests at a gathering in Indiana. She tells me she had to use actual lipstick to draw her smile on the napkin!

The Return of the Buckeye Smile
When this blog first began, TK was instrumental in getting the ball rolling by sharing any number of smiles with me. If you look back through the archives, you will see how cleverly she puts words into her smiles. Her last Buckeye smile submission was in October, 2012.
So here we are, three years later, and she is the first one to send another smile my way. She is on her way to Columbus, Ohio, for the Ohio State Buckeye football game and just wanted to say:
TK, you never fail to have the most charming smiles, not only for this blog, but also for everyone who is lucky enough to know you.Thank you!

The Return of the Smiles
I can't believe it's been two years since I really did anything with this Smile blog! My only excuse? I've been busy. I've decided to start again because it strikes me that, these days, we all could use more smiles in our lives. I encourage you to take your own smile pictures and share them...if not with me then at least with your friends and family. If you share them with me, I'll post them (no names) for the pleasure of those who intentionally read this blog as well as those who land here by accident!
This morning, back at the original Cracker Barrel where this all began, my grand daughter decided to share not only a smile, but a "What's Up Doc?" face. Here they are:
So I have to say a big Thanks to LS, for starting this rainy gray NC day off in such a sunny manner. Thanks to her, the rest of the day was bright and fun for all of us!

Batman Cat
It appears that interest in sharing smiles has moved away from the human realm, hence my lack of posts recently. Interestingly enough, people have been sharing similar animal photos with me, suggesting they would be good for this blog. I've resisted until I saw this cat! A friend (thanks SR) posted it on my Facebook page, so I went to find the source. I was rather amazed to see how many Batman Cat photos there actually were at this location.
If this moves you to draw a smile on a random slip of paper, hold it up to your face and share it with someone, feel free to send it along to me as well and I'll post it here!
I did not seek anyone's permission to use this photo; if it is yours, leave me a comment to remove and I will immediately comply.

Horsing Around
My nephew, along with his wife and son, lives in a very rural setting here in the south. They have an assortment of animals around their home, including horses. When they decided to send a smile, they selected a horsey grin. I haven't seen these family members in person for nearly three years and miss them very much, so it was extra exciting to receive this terrific picture of BK...horsing around!!
I have to say a big THANKS to RK & KSK for sharing BK's amazing smile! Love you all! <3

New Year Smiles
My New Year definitely started off on the right foot with these two smiles! One of my friends, who has actually been on this site with her own smile, sent me these pictures of her sons. They were out to dinner one evening and created these smiles to share. I especially like the tongues sticking out on both of them! They are a couple of real cuties and are bound to make you smile.
Thanks, AF, for sharing these pictures of JF and RF! JF...I love the "thumbs up" action, too.
Random Cat Smile
I can't believe how long it has been since I have added a SMILE to this blog. Time just sort of got away from me, but I plan to do better from now on. I'm posting this smile because someone emailed it to me, thinking it was funny and would make a nice post. I agree! I've left the information on the picture to give credit where credit is due. You can head over there to check it out and look at other pictures, as well.
